Details about Great Chart Cricket Club
Thank you for your interest in Great Chart Cricket Club. We have been playing cricket at Great Chart since 1856 and we are very proud of our club and all its achievements over the past 167 years.
We are not just a club that plays cricket, but a family orientated club that forms an integral part of our local and wider community, offering a wide variety of events during the year and playing host to community wide events annually such as the village fireworks display. The club is also used as a meeting place for several diverse community groups as well as a friendly and welcoming place to spend time together, with several villagers now becoming social members. The club also has strong links with the Ashford School who regularly use our facilities for Colts games and special events.
In addition to our 2 senior cricket sides that play Saturday friendlies, Sunday League (Division 4 East) and T20 friendly fixtures, we have a very active junior section with teams playing competitive matches at U11, U13 and U15 age groups, competing during the week in the Ashford & District Junior League, each playing 7-8 games throughout the season. Several of the older colts have progressed into the senior teams and have been particularly successful of late. This all bodes well for our senior sides in the years to come.
Our ground is one of the best in the area, benefitting from a good wicket, wonderful panoramic views over Godinton and first-class clubhouse facilities which are fully licensed and open regularly throughout the week for training, games and social events. We currently have around 91 members (approx. 51 adults & 40 juniors).
The club enjoys good press coverage during the cricket season with reports in local newspapers and is currently in the process of creating a new website. The club is also developing a successful outreach on social media platforms, with 1,153 people currently following the club on Instagram (@greatchartcricketclub). We have also recently launched the Great Chart Cricket Club Facebook Page. The public footpath that runs alongside the cricket ground further enhances public knowledge of the club, being extremely popular with walkers, runners and families.
Planned Home Fixtures Include:
· Saturday XI - 11 home matches
· Sunday XI - 11 home matches
· Junior teams - 15+ home matches
· Additional friendly, interclub, charity games and Cricket Week
The club is affiliated to the England & Wales Cricket Board.
Sponsorship Packages:
Companies are becoming increasingly aware of the need to be seen as being community driven and the benefits that this brings. Sponsoring Senior and Junior cricket at Great Chart is an excellent way to advertise your company to the local and wider area and to demonstrate its commitment to putting something back into the community.
Providing good quality facilities for the local community to learn, practice and play cricket on is expensive and demands a degree of commercial sponsorship in addition to help provided by volunteers.
Our sponsorship is available in 7 standard packages. Each package has been designed to give both businesses and individuals the opportunity to get involved with Great Chart Cricket Club and is suitable to a range of budgets.
The packages are specified below and include details of their cost together with the benefits sponsorship can bring. Although these represent our standard sponsorship packages, should you have any bespoke requests, these can be discussed and a specially tailored package designed.
1. Club Shirt Sponsorship (Senior) – Sponsored by Browne’s Scaffolding Ltd
The club shirt sponsor is the primary sponsor of the club bringing a whole host of benefits and can be an excellent way to gain company exposure with club members and the local area at a fraction of the price of other advertising methods.
2. Club Shirt Sponsorship (Junior) – Sponsored by Browne’s Scaffolding Ltd
Great Chart Cricket Club has a vibrant and successful junior section with players as young as 6 and is seen as the future of cricket at the club. Our junior teams compete during the week throughout the County in the Ashford and District Junior Leagues playing approximately 7-8 games per season. The clubs junior cricketers enjoy weekly training sessions where they are trained by qualified coaches.
3. Junior Equipment Sponsor – 1, 2 or 3 Year Deal – Cost open to discussion
At Great Chart we are proud to have a growing junior programme that is attended by children from the local community. Cricket can be an expensive sport and the club wants to provide equal opportunities for child participation. We are looking for a local organisation that can support junior equipment costs, such as pads, gloves, helmets and bats, thus enabling children from all backgrounds to play.
4. Annual Banner Advertisement at Great Chart Cricket Club - £300 for 1 year
Sponsorship around our picturesque ground is a high-profile way of advertising throughout the year. Advertisement banners are 6.5ft x 2ft and are placed alongside the public footpath next to the pitch, and will be visible to players, spectators, club members and visitors to the ground all year round.
5. Great Chart Cricket Club Match Day Sponsor – Cost open to discussion
Become a Great Chart VIP for the day! As a Match Day Sponsor, you will be sponsoring one of Great Charts senior teams home games during the season. Match days are popular at the cricket club with spectators, friends and family attending games on a regular basis.
6. Match Ball Sponsor (Senior and Junior) – Sponsored by Lorien Interiors
Commercially this represents our most accessible sponsorship and is aimed at both the individual and corporate sponsor. This would also include your logo posted on our social media pages alongside our Man of the Match from Saturday’s and Sunday’s games.
7. Ground Maintenance Sponsorship – Sponsored by ATEM Electrical LTD
Preparing a cricket pitch takes a lot of time, effort and resources.
